Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has said that due to India’s emergence as a strategic power, there has been a drastic change in China’s attitude towards India. Mr Singh said this in the context of a recent article published in the Chinese government-controlled Global Times, which praised India’s growth story and its growing global status.

This article is a confirmation of China’s changing attitude towards India. Speaking at the reception at India House in London, Mr Singh said that the Chinese government seems to be accepting of our economic and foreign policies as well as our changing strategic interests.

The Defense Minister said that India does not see anyone as an enemy but the world knows that relations between India and China are tense at present. He said that India wants good relations with its neighbours and the entire world. Global Times is considered the official newspaper of China.
