The Indian Judicial Code Bill, the Indian Civil Defense Code Bill, and the Indian Evidence Bill have been passed by the Lok Sabha. The purpose of these bills is to free people from the colonial mentality and its symbols.

Questions are being raised over the passage of this bill amid the absence of opposition MPs. The change is proposed to replace the British-era laws like the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act.
